problem while installing the motherboard

Hello!

I have a new PC with :

Motherboard : Asus A8N5X
Graphic Gard : Asus AX550
Windows XP pro (2002 version)
Service Pack 2

The problem is when I install the motherboard and the graphic card with
the support CDs, some of my peripheries are not acknowledged by the
system (yellow exclamation mark)and the network card is not recognized.
I tried with the default and manual installation but the result is the
same.

Please, if anybody knew what to do, because I'm totally lost.

Thank you by advance :D

Have you checked the BIOS setting?
Some times peripherals are disabled in BIOS.
You have to enabled them.

Does the motherboard CD have Nvidia chipset drivers ?
Try installing them.

The chipset drivers consist of a number of components.
Not all components may be worth installing.
For example, if IDE drivers are offered, I would recommend
doing some Google searches, to see whether people consider
them to be bug-free or not. On the network side of things,
the Nvidia Active Armor firewall is another item that
should be researched. The LAN interface itself should be
OK, but you might consider disabling the firewall software,
especially if you see corrupted downloads.

Actually, I did the installation of the "Nvidia chipset driver program"
with the installation wizard on the Nvidia nForce4 series support CD
and ignored the programs when a pop-up informed me they were not tested
by Windows (when I tried to ignore these pop-ups and download them
anyway, the PC failed to boot with Windows).
I'll try to follow your advice and install them manually from the CD
menu.
I'm looking for some websites with comments on the drivers like you
said but I can't find any. Maybe you know some?
Anyway, thank you very much for this advice ^_^

"We also had some issues with NVIDIA's IDE driver and our CD-RW
drive, which could be avoided by not installing the software
IDE driver."

It works!!
I did install Nvidia without IDE, then the ACTI/ATK driver file from a
windows 2000 setup and the network card by assigning the type of device
and the driver manually.
Thank you very much to -;) and Paul for your help and for reading my
freaky English _ especially for technical denominations.
