Sammy Notsossa

I am trying to install 2000 advance server on my PC which
has XP pro,I have 2 physical drives, and was hoping to
instal W2000 AS on a separate ,brand new volume
(partitioned and formated) .
After running instalation CD,I am getting a message that
my
PC "has a newer Windows version , than one that I am
trying to install.."and "Setup will close now"...
Why????
I sould be able to install any OS on any partition
exept "C" drive where my XP system files are, shouldn't
I???
Minimum hardware requirements are met...(1G RAM,240 G
hard drive total space,Pentium 4-2.67 Ghz)
I don't understand why can't I install it,is there a
little trick that I must know? ;))
Please help!!

Hi,

Either boot off the CD or run "winnt32" from the I386 directory of the CD
while booted into XP.

After the install you will need to copy NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM from the I386
directory on the XP CD to c:\ to be able to boot into XP.
