problem viewing applied background

I am unable to view any changes I apply to backgrounds such as fill colors,
watermarks, and page color. I have tried viewing in all the view choices but
nothing works. Print preview doesn't even show the colors I apply. When I
print the document however, everything shows up. Help!

print the document however, everything shows up. Help!

There are two separate settings in the Tools > Options dialog. On the View tab,
you need to check the "Background colors and images (Print view only)" box. That
will let you see the background in Print Layout view.

The other one, on the Print tab of the dialog, apparently is already checked,
but that controls only the printing of the backgrounds.
