I get the following message when I try start a video on youtube:

"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of
Macromedia's Flash Player."

I install the new version of Flash Player but it does not fix the problem.
How do I check Javascript status?

If your using IE6......

click on ...
tools | internet options
advanced tab
scroll down to java (sun)
and enable.

If you don't see that go to www.sun.com to download the latest version
of java and install it. then do above and insure it is enabled.

Good Luck,

Trev

NO, that's Java, which is completely different that JavaScript despite
the confusing names.

I think the Javascript setting is in the security tab someplace. My
employer locks us out of just about everything on that tab, so I can't
tell you exactly where

The Javascript setting is on the Security tab. Click the "Custom
Level..." button, search for the "Scripting" settings, and click the
"Enable" buttons, in particular the "Active Scripting" enabler.

The only choice is "Use JRE 1.5.0_07 for <applet> (requires restart)" and it
was already checked.

"Scripting of Java Applets" was also set to enable

"Scripting of Java Applets" was also set to enable

That is for Java. In Security tab > Click Default level > OK

Still a No-GO; I don't know what has happened because I used to be able to
run videos from youtube before!

Finally solved it by uninstalling Flash Player and then reinstalling!
