problem uploading web page in FP 2000

hi, I have a new web page "Burnside" in My Web folder with another web site
"my gallery". when I try and publish the "Burnside" page to its web site
using fp 2000, I see the file transfer indicator working but it also seems
to be uploading "my gallery" files too. In fp Page View under Folder List I
have C:\ etc\My Documents\My Webs then under that "Burnside" and then "my
gallery" in their own folders. I select "Burnside" then go to the Publish
Web button but it keeps loading the other web as well, any help would be
appreciated.

One should publish web sites not web pages.

My guess is from the your description that you did NOT
create a Front Page website as a first step in developing
a website. You would do this in Front Page, File | New
page or web | Web. The created web would have a global
icon next to its folder name.

Once this has been done, your next step is to create your
various web pages. By the way, any pictures you want to
include as content on your web pages must be imported
(File | Import) into this web prior to placement on your
web pages.

The last step is to publish this website from your disk
based web to your server based web (ie, the host).

I suspect that in attempting to publish your one page
that Front Page took all of the files containing in the
MyWebs folder and published them as a web. I further
suspect that you saw the gallery feature and created a
gallery witout first creating a Front Page website to
contain it.

I hope this helps you solve you problem and avoid some
future ones.
