Problem uninstalling unwanted software

Hi,
I'm having trouble deleting some software that i no longer require. Each time i go to the 'Add/remove programs' tool in control panel and select the software to uninstall (Nokia PC Suite 5.0), the following happens:
The uninstall shield box pops up twice, sometimes along with my internet connection box, the software's uninstallation screen apears and when i click 'remove program', the progress bar briefly pops up and it says 'program succesfully uninstalled'. However, once I have restarted the computer, the software is still there and still showing in the 'Add/remove programs' section.

Any ideas? I am desperate to get rid of this software as i cannot load its updated version while it is still showing on my system.

This is a very common problem. The only thing left is the name in the
add/remove list. To correct this:
Click start---run---type in regedit---click ok.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACH_Software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall
highlite and delete.

Recheck the registry. It MUST be there if it shows in add/remove programs.
Reboot and check before doing anything else.

Hi,
I've tried to do that, but it is not showing in Regedit, and still appears

in Add/Remove Programs. I wonder if perhaps a virus is preventing me from
deleting certain software. I have also started to notice that some programs
are running twice - side by side. Looking at my screen now, my antivirus
software logo is showing twice in the system tool tray but has only been
opened once. What do you think?
