Problem to open an InfoPath file inserted as object

I am inserting an InfoPath file as an object in Word. I’m choosing create
from file and display as an icon. But then in Word I try to open it and get
following error message:

Infopath cannot open the following file: C:_test[1].xml.
InfoPath cannot find or cannot access the following file: C:\Documents and
Settings\user\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\OZYJA5A1\C_test[1].xml

Have check so the folder in Temporary Internet Files is there and is it but
the test[1].xml is not there. There is full control on all folders under the
user profile. It feels like Word cannot read this type of object. Is there
someone who has seen this?

An InfoPath file is not a single file, it's a collection. So I think you
are correct: you can't embed them (because the main XML file will contain
references to the others, and those references will be to an explicit disk
location, not a relative location internal to the document).

Thanks John for your answer. We have to choose “link to file†instead.
