Problem to browse on-line page with IE6 after...

Hi everybody.
I don't speak english very well, but I hope to be enough
clear to ezplain my problem.

After I had installed and uninstalled two programs ("Safe
XP" and "Game XP") I don't able to browse any web page
on-line, I think because there is a problem in something
about TCP/IP protocol and IE6. The browser read normally
the html page on my hard disk, but it doesn't work to
navigate on-line.
Those programs I installed have changed something about
TCP/IP protocol and they had deleted the traces to restore
the system.
So, I have solved the problem only by using Netscape 7 or
others web browser, but I'd need to use IE6.
I tried to re-install IE6, I tried to re-install the TCP/IP
protocol, but nothing.
Also, I can't obviously connect to windows update.....

I can't format my hard disk and re-install Windows XP,
could someone help me? Thanks a lot and excuse my english

I don't understand that you uninstalled Safe XP? Nevertheless, if you
are able to browse the internet with Netscape, then TCP/IP MUST be
properly configured since Netscape also recquires that protocol. So I
eliminate TCP/IP as the source of the problem.

If the OS is Windows XP and IE 6.0 was working before, then I'd
consider a restore. If the OS is Windows 9x, then I'd open IE 6.0 and
return all the settings to the default settings in the security
section (Tools > Internet Options > Security). I'd also tab over to
advanced and the return all the settings to default.

If that fails to fix the problem, then I take the next step. If the
OS is Windows 9x, then boot to the "c:\ prompt" and type "scanreg/
restore" and select a date just before you had this problem. Reboot
and see if you are working.

Good luck with this issue.

I have one last thought. If you are using a firewall, have you
denied Internet Explorer access?

Again, good luck.

Thanks very much Traxless, I use Windows XP and I've losted
the "restore data information" that I need to restore the
system at a date just before I had this problem, so can't
use the restore option on my Windows XP. If the problem is
not the TCP/IP protocol setted up on IE6, maybe it is a lan
configuration. Anyway I've tried to make any IE6 option to
Default, but I see always the page ...dnserror.htm with IE6
on-line. Do u think is it possibile a problem about
registry information changed by "Safe XP" ?
Also, I think IE6 has a setting up to work with a Proxy
server connections, but I use a normal adsl.
Do you know if exists a program that checks if IE6 work
properly and restores any option of it completely ? I've
installed IE6 again without success by using the Microsoft
setup.exe, but there's a problem that can't be solved by
this operation.
Thanks infinitely for your precious help.
