Problem setting up web cam with windoes messenger

Hello

Chatting with a relative via windows messenger. I am trying to set up web
cam. I either have no picture, black screen in upper right hand corner or if
I select picture in picture, a very small picture appears. I would like to
get a larger picture. I am XP pro. I have a cam, but his is not yet
installed. Any suggestions?.

Upgraded from version 4.7 to 5.0. Will see if this makes a different..
