problem setting up email

I can not get windows mail to accept my gmail account. I have set it up many
times the exact way I am showed how, but I can not get it to take. Can
someone please help me understand. I keep getting a message the it can not
verify my credentials.

For gmail access in Windows Mail, see all the settings,

Did you enable POP access on the gmail account at the website?

Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the exact and complete error message.

Mine doesn't work either. It just says it failed. I have it set exactly as it
says and still can't use windows mail from google or my bellsouth account

NOTE : Make sure SSL are checked. Your Port #s are wrong.

Jannie, I doubt it just says "It failed". Either you are paraphrasing the
error message or else you're only quoting a small part of it.

Gmail doesn't use the default port 25 & 110...
