Problem sending message with large attachment

I just started having a problem sending a message with a large attachment
(4mb) that I have sent previously. I am running XP Home with SP2.0, Outlook
2003 SP1. When sending I get the following:

Task 'account - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC13) : 'Unable to connect to
the network. Check your network connection or modem.'

This occurs in a couple of seconds.

I have tried all of the following: disabling Norton AV scanning incoming and
outgoing messages, set server timeout to 10 minutes.

I can send the same file with Outlook Express okay.

I spent an hour with my service provider (DSL) with no resolution.

I have tried all of the following: disabling Norton AV scanning incoming and
outgoing messages, set server timeout to 10 minutes.

Try uninstalling Norton, then re-installing without selecting mail
scanning. From various posts here, it appears that just disabling scanning
doesn't always remove Norton's influence.

I uninstalled Norton and then reinstalled. The message then transmitted
okay. I did not need to disable scanning.
