problem sending emails when wireless

I have Outlook 2003, Windows XP, and use Comcast as an Internet provider.
When I am wireless, I can easily send emails via the home wireless router and
also using T Mobile at such locations as Starbucks or US airports with T
Mobile. But at other locations both within the US and internationally, the
messages get hungup in the Out Box and will not send until I get back to
someplace such as a T Mobile location within the US. But I can receive
emails and surf the Internet with no problems no matter where I am. What
would cause this? I need to be able to send emails from any internet
connection regardless of the provider.

what is your email service, what is the smtp server? for some reason it is
not finding it when you are on other isp's.

I suspect you are using Comcast's smtp server to send emails. They only
allow you to use their smtp server when connected to their network (because
they will have verified you are a customer). When using T-mobile, they
probably transparently redirect all smtp requests to their own server.

The solution is to use an smtp server which is not dependent on which
network you are connected to - in other words one that supports some other
form of authentication. You can pay for this service, but I believe google
mail offers it for free.

Solution: Do your sending chores with a free Gmail account.
It doesn't use port 25.

Gentlemen - Thanks for your advice. I am using Explorer 7.0 with Comcast.
But I also have a free Comcast account and I suspect that if I use that one,
all will be well in the universe. I'll check it out on a trip to CA this
coming week. It won't be as good as the Outlook I am used to, but it'll get
the job done.
