Problem running query in Microsoft Access

Hello,
Some of my queries work perfectly, but two of my queries
1. A Make-Table query whose purpose is to make a duplicate/backup of a table
and
2. An Update Query whose purpose is to update a field in a table
will not run, and remain with the exclamation mark next to them, and I am
unable to open up either of these queries after making them. I am not sure
what I am doing incorrectly, but they aren't working!

What do you mean by "open them up"? If you're looking for them to display
some type of records in a datasheet view, that is not how they work. When
you "open" an action query, it runs and does the action that you want it to
do.
