problem reinstalling firefox

Hello
I've had Firefox O.8 running with no problems.
After a format and reinstalling of Windows 98SE and update of modem
program and drivers I had problems with Firefox.
I decided to reinstall from the exe file I uploaded for the first
installation.
The installation is apparently succesfull but Firfox doesn't start.
It makes Zone alarm react so it's trying to do something. With
Zonealarm turned of it makes no difference.
Any ideas?
