Problem on joining a domain

Dear Sir

I encounter a problem "Error RPC Server is unavailable" when I would like to join a domain by either an MS Storage Server or MS XP Professional machine

The following is the output of the dcdiag command issued by the MS Storage Server

Keith,

An RPC error is usually caused by either a DNS or a networking error. It
might be a networking error in your case ( as the error messages are stating
that the "connected party did not respond after a period of time....."

Thanks for your information.
Do you have any clues or any suggested actions for further investigation
One point I could only think out is the machines are in different subnets but I could share folder between those machines and there is no blocking of any ports between routers. What else will cause this
