Problem loading web pages

Lately when I go to a web page it loads but I can't click on anything until
I click on the red (or orange??) flashing link on the bottom taskbar (left),
then everything works fine.
My TIF are empty and clear every time I leave IE6. I have no
spyware/viruses onboard (multiple checks).
This only occurs if I'm doing a lot of browsing. It always clears itself at
next boot-up.
What is causing this?

Oops - ignore, I forgot to use TweakUI/General/Focus - uncheck "Prevent
items from stealing focus etc."
