Problem installing SP2

When I install service pack 2 there are some errors copying files and the
install process tries to uninstall what it has done so far. At this point
Windows can no longer start. One can recover by reinstalling XP in place but
the whole problem occurs again when trying to install SP2. When reinstalling
XP there are 3 files that it can't copy (CONTROLS.JS_, EVENTS.JS_ and
TOURS.JS_).

Does this have anything to do with not being able to install SP2?

Does anyone else have this problem?
