Problem installing OKI 5300c on XPPro

Alexis

Tried to install a brand new OKI 5300C (uSB2) color laser through the
USB port on my standalone PC runnimg WinXPPro. The installation hung
and I get the following when I right-click and choose properties.
Tried both the auto-detect method of installing and the Add/Printer
route.

"Function address 0x71077c3a caused a protection fault. (exception
code 0xc0000005) Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed.

The 'OKI C5100' printer driver is not installed on this computer. Some
printer properties will not be accessible unless you installed the
printer driver. Do you want to install the driver now?"

I have spent a small fortune on the printer and cannot use it -
Someone HELP!

CORRECTION:
I meant to say its a OKI 5100n printer and NOT a 5300C - apologies

Thanx Mary. I was meant to say 5100n and NOT 5300!
I was unable to find the support document for the 5100n that you refer to - can you tell me how you got it as the URL only takes me to the home page.

Hi Mary

I looked at the oki web site and could not find any reference to the documents you mention, just the latest drivers. I downloaded these and cleared my system first (i.e. removed printer and all drivers) and installed the latest version of the C5100C driver with exactly the same outcome

PLEASE, PLEASE. Any ideas would be MOST WELCOM
