me. Now i've downloaded IE7 and saved it to my desktop but can't see where i
uninstall IE8, It's not in add remove. Can anyone help me out on this one

A web search with this as the search term:

how to remove internet explorer 8

will provide you with the information you want.

Do you have the same experience when you start Internet Explorer from
the 'no add-ons' icon?

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No Add-Ons)

Or create a shortcut on your desktop with the following target path:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff

Do you have the same experience after you have reset Internet Explorer
settings?

Problems with Internet Explorer can also be caused by by malicious
software ('malware') that you have unwittingly installed on your computer.

Web pages that were developed for previous versions of Internet
Explorer, or with proprietary HTML or scripting extensions, might not
function the same way in Internet Explorer 8. Web developers need to
test their web pages to identify compatibility issues with Internet
Explorer 8, and redesign web pages that do not function properly.

Have you checked correctly? Internet Explorer seems to be listed as
Windows Internet Explorer, since version 7.

If you installed Service Pack 3 after IE8, it will not appear there. First,
go to Add/Remove, and at the top, make sure there is a checkmark before
"Show Updates". Look for Internet Explorer again. If not found, look for
Service Pack 3. After you uninstall SP3, reboot twice, then check Add/Remove
for IE8. If you have added any 3rd party toolbars to IE8, first uninstall
them, then uninstall IE8 and reboot twice. Then, if you were using IE7
before you upgraded to IE8, IE7 should now be your current version, but if
you upgraded directly from IE6 to IE8, after IE8 is uninstalled, you will
then have IE6. Reinstall Service Pack 3 before upgrading Internet Explorer,
and reboot twice. Then if you have IE6, use the IE7 installation, and reboot
twice. Then go to Windows Update, choose Custom, and choose the critical
updates that are offered. It is best to choose no more than 5 at a time, let
them install, and then, whether the installation says you need to restart
your computer or not, reboot twice. Return to Windows Update until your
computer is fully patched. If you are offered IE8, uncheck it and hide it.
Where possible, it is best to download installation files, disconnect from
the internet, disable your anti-virus program temporarily, install the file,
and re-enable your anti-virus. It is also good to start your computer in
"clean boot" mode, before installing updates, where possible.
