Problem installing CCleaner

I have downloaded the latest version (v.1.21.130) of CCleaner twice, from
different locations. When I try to install it I get a problem "Error opening
file for writing" and have to abort the install. Has anyone else had this
problem?

The same here, never had a problem installing and using CCleaner.

Thanks for all replies. I've never had to uninstall before, and they say
specifically that it is not necessary. I'll wait a bit and then have another
try.

Frank, I also have it installed on 98 & XP prosp2.

Even though CCleaner says > ( You do not need to uninstall a
previous version before you install this one ) , in your case I
would.
Run any other cleaners you use after uninstalling & then
reinstall.
