problem in shutting down

hi, i downloaded the xp service pack 2, and since then, my computer seems to
have some problems shutting down, sometimes, when i shut down, a blue page
appears and then the system restarts, with the message that you system has
just recovered from a serious error. then, i shut down again, then, its ok...

does it have something to do with the direct x, cos sometimes, an error
appears regarding the same, thereafter, the problem in shutting down occurs.

please help.

I've included some links that may be of assistance, whether it's relating to SP2 or
just coincidental after installation of SP2?

This problem could be caused because of corrupted System Restore.

I had the same problem and by accident I found that my HP printer was the
problem. Try disconnecting your printer and see if the problem stops.
