problem in posting to forums

Running Win XP and IE. In IE, I can go to web sites, and from there go to
subsequent web pages. I can surf around just fine.

But, I can't post on any sites where there are forums. When I try to post
and hit the submit button, the message tries to load (post), but the little
blue thingee at the bottom in the tray progresses oh so slowly
..
I've tried this on maybe 12 different forums, with the same result. I
finally get the indication "cannot find server", or a web page saying "the
page cannot be displayed".

I've just run CWShredder, Stinger, Spybot, AdAware, and my pc a/v program
with no indication of bugs.

Maybe a control setting has somehow changed recently? Where do I look?

Any good thoughts on what might be wrong in my pc? Probably something
simple, as this only started a week or so ago.

Please keep posts about one subject in one thread. Please do not post
the same question a few minutes apart. Wait at least 24 hours before
posting the same question again.

What changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?
Only you know what you've done recently. "Control Settings" don't
change by themselves. Have you changed any security features in IE?
Installed a firewall or filtering program such as Norton Internet
Security? What types of forums? Do they require Java? Do you have Java
