I have been trying to find a solution to removing a file "My
Documents" from opening up on the desktop every time I boot up. I can
click it shut but it's a big nuisance to anyone who wants a clean
desktop. I have looked in the Startup menu, msconfig, etc. With no
success. I need help! I'm running WindowsXP with all updates.

Thanks,

John

We got hold of Microsoft support and this is what they said to do to fix the
problem, of my documents opening on start up.

1. Start
2. Run
3. Regedit
4. My computer
5. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
6. Software
7. Microsoft
8. Windows NT
9. Current Version
10. WINLOGON
11. Userinit (On the right hand side)
12. Make sure this says (Userinit) C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe: If
it says anything after this, remove the extra.

Hope this works for you guys
Thanks
