Problem getting a hyperlink to work in Window Mail

Hi
Unable to find an answer that I understand as to why I cannot get a
hyperlink to work in either a simple signature or body of an email , the
address or text changes colour and is underlined but does not work?
Can anyone offer a reason why and how to correct it( simple language please)

It will work.... just not in the compose window.
To test it, save the message as a draft. In the preview pane, click on the
link.

That works , can you tell me how to add a hyperlink to a signature,had a
play and each time I create new mail, the hyperlink in the signature is not
highlighted

Try sending the message to yourself and see if the hyperlink is functional
in the received message.
