Problem Forwarding or Replying from Outlook PST Folder

I have recently developed a bizarre problem with Outlook 2003 (SP3) when
replying to or forwarding an e-mail from a PST folder. When I click on send,
the e-mail goes to the "Outbox" as expected but then is stored back in the
same folder from which I was replying/forwarding. Nothing is ever stored in
the "Sent Items" folder nor is the e-mail received by anyone.

This problem only occurs if I reply/forward from a PST folder. If I create
a new e-mail or reply/forward from a folder under the Mailbox, it works just
fine.

I have tried this for multiple e-mail accounts (all my accounts are POP3
with different incoming/outgoing servers), to multiple recipients, and from
multiple folders under the PST file, and it always occurs.

I have also run "scanpst" on the PST file, and it did not fix the problem.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Tim.
Check to see if the box is check for:
"In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message."
If its checked uncheck and see if that fixes the problem.

It can be found in:
Tools
Options
On the Preferences Tab
Then click Email Options
Click Advanced Email Options
It will be the second check box on the screen.

Best of luck!

Nikki,

Thanks so much. It fixed the problem. I never thought to check this option
since it was never set before and I hadn't changed any preferences for a very
long time. Must be one of those settings that was changed (accidentally?)
with one of the Outlook patches or SP's. Thanks again. I can sleep better
now!

Tim
