Problem deleting grouped contacts

I have recently put all my business contacts in a group to separate them from
personal ones, but the names are still in my contacts list as well as the
group folder. If I delete from the list, the name gets deleted from the
group! Is there a way around this?
 
Outlook doesn't use the term "groups" when it comes to Contacts...how exactly
do you have these contacts grouped?
