Problem deleting directories

Greetings

I have XP home and until now have been able to sort oiut 98% of all my woes
but this is really annoying me

I installed a program to enable me to manage a large number of mp3 files.
Part of the sorting involved copying files to new folders - and I assumed
the original ones would be deleted. But no they are still there - so my mp3
collection practically doubled!!!!

Result was I deleted or moved all the files from the newly created folders
back to the original one.

The problem is with a few of the new folders - I can't delete them

Error message when I try to delete is:
-------------------------------------
Error deleting File or folder

Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk
-------------------------------------

Folders are empty so I tried putting a dummy file in there and its fine I
can see it, use it - whatever I want to do including deleting the file but
the folder - NO

Tried using the DOS command RD and RDIR - No good.

Any help appreciated

Many folders cannot be deleted even with one file in it.
Most can only be deleted if they are empty.
Go here for help: Click "D" scroll down to "Delete -
Permission Denied......"

Tried all the suggestions there but without success. The main problem is
that when I right click folder name and get the "Properties" its blank ....
