ill try to give up as much information as i can about this... i downloaded a
loose change 2 which is a documentary on sept 11th from limewire... its a
..avi file... when i highlight the file it says its 698 MB, but when i
highlight it and go to file > properties it has no information in there and
says its 0 bytes... but ive been trying to delete it from my hard drive.
when i right click on the file there is no option for delete so i cant delete
it that way, ive tried moving it from the folder and it will not move, tried
dragging it to the recycle bin and nothing, also tried highlighting it and
pushing the delete key on the keyboard, and still nothing happens... any
ideas? also, when i try to play the file, it brings up windows media player
and it does nothing... ive ran 2 virus scan programs and they've found
nothing so i do not think its a virus or anything like that, my computer
seems to be running fine... i just cant get this thing to delete... any
help would be great... thanks!

Reboot your system and try to delete it again.
Maybe after you reboot, you can't find it again:)

A favourite of XP - "hanging" on to avi files as they're still in use.

Download a 3rd party file management program (plenty of freeware from
tucows or download.com) and use one of those to delete the file(s)

Might also want to try using safe mode and see if you can
get at it that way.

thanks everyone for your help... i downloaded a file utility from
download.com and it told me that the file name was too long. so i renamed
the file to something shorter and it let me delete it... thanks again for
the help everyone...
