Problem : Copy option in XP Pro from a 2000 Server Share

R

root

I have XP Pro as client and a 2000 Server that has a folder share with
subfolders.

XP has the option to 'copy' the share and paste it to my machine.
Windows 2000 Pro did not have this option. So first I am curious why
XP Pro has it.

Second, I cannot copy the folder share and its contents, to my XP Pro
machine from the 2000 server if there are subfolders. I get the error
'cannot create or replace' Cannot find the specified path.

If there are not subfolders in the 2000 Server share, I can copy and
paste, but nothing pastes with no error.

Is this an OS conflict or bug between XP pro and 2000 Server?

Its also very confusing to users on the network with XP, when they
have the copy option for 2000 server shares from the XP client.
