Hi Forum,

Not long after I get a blue screen of death, showing a (system error) in
Operating system vs: 5.2, it shows up as "ER_KRNLCRASH_LOG" and then I hit
HELP AND SUPPORT site it takes me to this message:

Problem was caused by ESS Modem Driver (es56cvmp.sys). Driver is created by
ESS Technology, Inc.

What does this mean? Can somebody give me an understandable explanation that
would help me? I appreciate the advice!

Sincerely, Tim

It means that a modem driver you have caused the BSOD. First, I'd check
the Hardware Manager and see if you have anything wrong with that modem
(yellow exclamation mark, etc). If you don't have a modem, then you
need to keep the driver from loading; if you do, then the driver is at
fault and you need to contact the company "ESS Technology, Inc" and get
a resolution.
