I'm having a permission issue. I work on win2K, webs are on a win2k
server, client is FP2003. I use "Open site" in FP2003 and access the
webs via the network. NO domain, no active directory, but local logins
have user names that match users on the server to establish priv's.

Everything was working fine when all users on the server were
administrators. Recently I change the user accounts on the server to
be "power users" instead of administrators. Now when I try to open the
main site (or any other) site on the server from FP, I get prompted
for a user/password/domain. The only one that will give me access is
the Administrator's name/password as on the server.

What do I need to do to allow the clients to access the webs without
an Administrator authorization ?

Login with ad admin account, then choose Tools, Server,
Permissions.

Then click Manage Users and for each user, click Add A
user and assign the Author role.

HI! this is similar to one of my post. And I think I know now what has to be
done to enable my http mode transfer. the guy mentioned that he knew nothing
about FP and I am sure that he never installed FP on the server. you
mentioned in another post that permissions should be set via FP and not with
Win explorer or IIS. and if the server extensions are installed on the
server the default for full control authoriting is "administrators" inwhich
I would not have access and therefore would reject any FP http transfer mode
attempt.

I want to thank you for all the info and replies concerning this issue. :)
