FP now asks for login to localhost

C

Cindy

Using FP2002 with XP Pro. Recently "upgraded" to Internet Explorer 7.

Am not sure if the upgrade is the reason, but now when I attempt to open
webs on my localhost, I am asked for a password and login. -This was not
the case before -the webs would simply open.

I am running with administrative privs. and did not designate a login
password.

Any suggestions?

Try disabling Integrated Windows Authentication in Internet Information
Services and just enable Basic Authentication (or try vice versa).

Thanks for response.
Tried it....still asking for login/password
Anyone else have an idea of what is going on and how to fix it?

I should add that when it does ask for login/password, I have not been able
to enter anything that it will accept

Rob - I'm experiencing the same issue - you stated that your 'more
recent post' tells the fix - if it does - I sure don't know what it is
- can you please be specific - this is killing me not being able to
open my localhost site.

Regards and much thanks in advance -

Rob, under the circumstances, I think it would be very helpful if you posted
your "fix" to anyone who asks about it, instead of telling them to look at
"more recent post above". Not everyone is using a real newsreader (web
interface?) and posts can get lost in OE.

Especially if you have OE set to only save posts for a few days.

OK, Nevermind, Got it!!

In IE7;
Tools | Internet Options | Security | Local Intranet | Sites | Advanced
and
added localhost to the list.

Just in case someone gets here first, like I did - No more searching

THANK YOU!
