A pop-up has infected my system that has, "PrivacyALERT" written at the top.
I can get it to go away by clicking it but I can't find the source with AVG
or Spybot. I'd like to know who gave it to me.

This is coming in from outside through messenger services.
It means that your machine is open to attack and you need a good
firewall installed.
Also download all available updates from the windows update site.
