when i print labels from word the labels are printed ok but they move up the
page so that the last 2 or 3 rows are printed half on the label above,it
looks like the spacing is smaller making it all move up the page. i can print
the lables ok if i send the doc to another pc, it prints ok on the same
printer

Are you using a standard label like "Avery"? If so, make sure you have that
selected (e.g. Address Label 8160). If you've already tried that, you can go
in and edit the label information. There is are margins etc that you can
play with.

Go into tools > envelopes and labels > label options > details. There is a
graphic that'll show you what all of the options look like.

Also, make sure when you are printing that the printer is not "re-scaling"
your printing. When you select print, there is an option under the "Zoom"
that has scaling.

Lastly, make sure you are running the exact same driver as the other
computer. If it is an HP inkjet try the (HP 550c) driver and see if that
makes a difference, that'll help you determine if it is a driver issue on the
computer with the issue.

1. You have added a header/footer to normal.dot (rename normal.dot)
2. The page size set in the printer properties doesn't match the page size
of the label sheet.
3. You have a scaling option set in the zoom section of the print dialog
4. Your printer has poor paper handling. Some printers will slip when faced
with label stock and thus are incapable of feeding the label correctly.
Cleaning the rollers in the print path may help.
