How can we print a lecture in lanscape (like a handout) with 4 slides per
page where you can actually read the slides without using a magnifying glass.
Our lectures are usually 40-50 pages long and it uses alot of paper, if we
can figure a way to print out a large version in lanscape with 4 slides per
page we could reduce the amount of paper we use.

i should state that we are trying to stay away from cutting and pasting

If hardware solutions are out, I'd go with David's solution.

But if choosing different printers is a possibility, look into those that can do
n-up (ie, multiple "pages" of output on one printer sheet) printing.

As it happens, I recently picked up an HP 1320 (b/w laser) because I needed
something quickly while my Big Fella (great hulking HP4V) was in the shop. At
$399 less a $100 rebate at the moment, it'd be a pretty good choice for this
kind of thing. Does autoduplexing too, so you can print both sides.

I'm sure there are others that do n-up printing.
