Printing via network to a USB printer on XP

I'd like to print from a Win98 machine to a HP 1220C USB
printer atached to an XP Pro machine. Win98 doesn't even
see the printer?! Is it possible? If so, how?

I'll be interested to see the answers on this one!
I've posted an almost identical query on the network forum

I've a Samsung laser printer connected directly to my XP Home machine, by USB.... my childrens Win 98 machines can't see it over the LAN, but they could see the previous parallel port printer

is it a problem with USB printers??
