Printing selection of an email

Nancy

Hi,

Many times I want to print out a list someone has sent me in an email. I
select and click on the selection option but it always prints out the header
information along with the selection. Is there a way to have it only print
the selected area? I looked in options and can't seem to find any way to
correct that issue. Suggestions?

Thanks,
Nancy

In which email program?
If you're using Windows Mail, it uses the Internet Explorer settings.
In IE, click on File (or press Alt to show the menu) - Page Setup
delete the entries in the Header and/or the Footer sections.

Keep in mind that this will also affect printing in IE.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for replying. I am using Windows Mail. I tried the suggestion
but it didn't take off the header and footer in Windows Mail ... by that I
mean the portion that shows who the email is to and from, date and subject,
and the page number and date on the bottom.

Any other things to try?

I just highlight what I want to print and select "copy"

Then I paste to Microsoft Word.

I print from there.

Sorry, I know of no way to do that, except copy the desired portion & paste
into a text editor to print.

Windows Live Mail seems to work the same way, and Thunderbird & Outlook
won't even allow you to select an area (they print the entire message).

Outlook 2007 has an "open in browser" function that allows you to use the
browser print facility to print single, multiple, or a selection of, pages.

You are so right. Copy and paste would be the best way around this. I
guess the "selection" setting is, kind of, not what it is supposed to be.

Thanks,

Fine - you didn't specify that in your post....

It never stops guys like you from responding.

The easiest and fastest way to print a range of any document including
email is simply copy and paste it into one of the default Windows
applications like Notepad, or if the user has it, Word, then print
from there.

Shouldn't somebody with the 20 years Office experience you claim to
have know that?

Ctrl key + C copies.

Ctrl key + V pastes.

Really, really simple stuff Gordo, you know, what you'd good at.
