Hi, I have a laptop and pc networked together. They share their internet
connection (broadband adsl modem) very well, as well as file sharing. They
both run XP home with SP2. However, I cannot print from the laptop, and have
to manually plug the printer into it. The printer is shared.
Thanks for any help

Heather,

How is the printer normally connected, when you "cannot print from the laptop"?
What precisely is happening when you "cannot print from the laptop"?

Do you have working shares (accessed from the other computer) on each computer?

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

The printer is normally connected by usb cable to my pc. When I try and
print, nothing happens. It tells me that the document is queueing but even
after half an hour, it still doesn't print.

Yes, I can share files and folders between each computer. They are connected
by crossover cable. I tried to connect them through the broadband modem but
that didnt work. They share their internet connection very well.

Heather,

Please describe the broadband modem, by brand and model. Also, the printer
brand and model.

How are your two computers, and the modem, connected? Please be precise and
complete in your description, I am trying to help you.

Has the printer ever worked for network printing? When originally connected,
were the two computers connected thru the modem, or thru the crossover cable?

Cheers,
Chuck
