Printing Problem

Not sure which NG would be best for this issue. I have Office 2010 on a
desktop and a laptop. Both computers are running Win7 64 Bit. The laptop is
the home edition and the desktop is running the Pro edition. Both are
printing directly to the same HP networked printer with duplexing.

On the desktop Word gives me the option in the print screen to print duplex
automatically. However, the laptop does not. On the laptop I have a manual
duplexing option and have to go into the printer properties to set
duplexing there. Any ideas why the two do not have the same options when
they are both running the same Office and operating system? Do I need to
update my operating system to Pro to get this feature? Thanks.

Well, since you have different options in the printer settings, something
must be different. If you look directly at the printer options (Start menu |
Devices and Printers), does that give you a clue to what is going on?

You need to update the printer driver for your laptop.

Sorry, they are all updated to the latest drivers. Poor excuse.

I already checked there. All settings are identical.

But some options are missing?

Are you saying that the options are present if you open the printer
settings from Control Panel (Devices and Printers)?

And, from within Word, if you click the Printer Properties link, the
options are missing?
