Printing Labels in Landscape? WHy can't I get this to work...

OK, I'm sure this is something relaly dumb I'm missing but hopefully someone
can point it out for me.

I need to print some labels that are Avery number: 5895

When I just go through the standard Envelopes and Labels thing, pick the
right Avery number, and then click New Document I get the standard page
layout with the labels. But then when I go to Page Setup / Landscape, it
just makes that paper landscape but the labels are still portrait and they
then go down to two pages and it's all messed up.

What do I have to do to get the labels to dlip landscape as well?

Thanks.

Mr. B:

Well, it seems the problem is because the "hard" sheet of labels is not
landscape.

Well Yes I can tell that since it doesn't rotate. Question is, how do I make
it rotate on its side so I can type things sideways in relation to the normal
setup...

I'm at a loss Mr. B. unless you can find yourself some labels that are set up
sideways on the sheet! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

You could try reformatting the table (as that is what it is), but it will
probably be easier for you to create a new custom label definition. After
selecting Avery 5895, click on "Details" and note all the measurements.
Mentally transpose these (in other words, the top margin will become the
side margin and vice versa, label height and width will be swapped, and so
on), then close the dialog and choose New Label... Enter your transposed
measurements, give your new label a name (such as "Avery 5895 Landscape")
and save it. Then use this label definition instead of the built-in one (it
will be listed under Other/Custom).

Thanks Suzanne,

That's exactly what I ended up doing since I coudln't find any way for Word
to do that automatically.
