PRINTING IN OUTLOOK 2007

The inability to print in any style except memo style is a big step backwards
in the program. Memo style often increases the clutter on a page. It also can
increase the amount of paper and ink consumed resulting in a greater expense
to customers using that Microsoft product.

I would think that MS should consider making their products more convenient
for their customers and be sensitive to an issue that causes the customers to
incur greater costs for printing.

MS was able to build older versions with much better printer options; they
should at least be able to do that again in 2007.

Why post the same message so many times?

We are hoping that Office 2007 SP1, whenever it is released, will address
the printing issue since so many people hate the current setup and have
complained loudly about it. In the meantime, if you are viewing an HTML
message, a workaround is to click the Other Actions button on the ribbon,
then View in Browser. IE will give you better printing options.

Thanks for the response.

The multiple postings were because I had been told, perhaps incorrectly,
thar the questions are not read by MS, only the messages posted as
suggestions for MS. I too, obviously, hope this issue is fixed. The general
category was because I don't know who/what that was for so I covered it too.
The question posting was to see what, in anything, others may have discovered
to deal with this problem. I'll try your suggestion in this regard.

You can fix this issue if you use a third party addin:

Savvisoft have released Blueprint for Outlook Basic edition, an addin for Outlook which has been designed to simply enable you to reduce paper usage. As part of this, Blueprint enables you to select part of a message and print it whilst still retaining all the usual header information.

YOU BET I will take a look at that!!! I do a lot of printing.

The previous respondent to this post did say that the memo style only was
hated in the 2007 eition. I hope that your proposed solution becomes widely
known.

I find reading paper is easier on my eyes than looking at a computer screen
for extended periods.

A paper document can be taken to another location.

It is easier to move between different documents on paper than to arrange
viewing several simultaneously for comparison, or switching between them. On
paper I have only to move my eyes.

Important documents can be saved on paper on site or off site with no risk
of loss by computer failure between backups.

And are far better saved electronically on CD or DVD - how easy is it to
search a filing cabinet? How easy is it to search a CD or DVD? How easy is
it to copy a filing cabinet? I can think of many more advantages of
electronic storage over paper.....

Hmmm - why bother with email at all?
