Printing hyperlinks

G

Grant

Hi,

Sometimes Ill copy a web page into word and print it (IE always chops text
off when printing).
Is there a way substitute hyperlink text with that hyperlinks URL?

ie if a hyperlink 'click here' is a link taking the user to the microsoft
website is copied from a website into word, it is still underlined and the
link still works by pressing CTRL+Hyperlink in Word. However when I print it
out I dont want to see the text 'click here' because thats no use to me - I
would prefer to see the URL of that hyperlink.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Grant

From the Tools menu, select Options and then Print and check the Field codes
box under the Include with document section of the dialog.

To see the links on the screen, press Alt+F9 to toggle on the display of all
field codes in the document, or to only display individual ones,.select them
one at a time and use Shift+F9.

Another way would be to right-click and choose Edit Hyperlink. Then select
the URL in the "Address" box, Copy it, and Paste it into the "Text to
display" box. If you don't need the hyperlink to be an actual working
hyperlink, you can then unlink it using Ctrl+Shift+F9. If you merely want to
remove the Hyperlink character formatting, select it and press
Ctrl+Spacebar. If you want it to look like a hyperlink but not be one,
unlink it and then reapply the Hyperlink character style. Many
possibilities!
