printing from word is incomplete

when i print a document from word it comes out incomplete, with the middle of
the lettters missing or faint. I've tried a test page and that comes out
fine. Cartridge is new so shouldn't be that and have had lots of tests so ink
is flowing properly. any suggestions please? (recently swopped from Lotus
suite -which worked fine, but have had some sucess before now with word so
bit confused!)

In Word, click on Tools | Options | Print | uncheck the "Draft
output" box | OK.
