Printing from MSDOS software to remote printer

Does anyone know how to print from MSDOS software to a printer on a remote
desktop. My printers are connecting, I can print test pages, but can't
figure out how to tell the software to print to the remote printer since it
only gives a few options for printing e.g. lpt1, lpt2, com1, com2. Any
help would be appreciated. I am a novice at this stuff.

If the MSDOS software itself is looking for the printers - other than
printing to some local device (which could mean printing to a file) and then
printing that file to a remote printer - you may be out of luck.

You might be able to get MSDOS (really command prompt in XP) to print
to a remotely shared printer that just happens to be on the same
machine as Remote Desktop Client. This *assumes* that your printer is
DOS compatible (not a 'win' printer).
