When printing from my dos application there is a time
delay of up to 45 seconds before printing begins. I have
tried setting up to print directly to the printer but
this does not help. Is there any way to get a better
responce time? When I was using windows98 I had no
problems.

How did you set up "directly" to the printer?

This probably happens because your DOS application do not close the printer
port at the end of the print job. The best solution should be to fix it, if
you can.

If you cannot, look at the Edward's post on November the 7th, 2003 (or go to
