I have a Canon printer with 2 paper trays. I want to print my email from the
lower cassette tray but it will only print from the automatic feed tray (that
I use for envelopes). I have changed every setting I can find but as soon as
click print it flips to the Auto Feed tray.
Any suggestions?

That's up to the printer driver, not Outlook. I use a Canon printer at work
and the driver allows selecting the output either by selecting the tray or by
selecting the paper type, allowing the printer to choose the correct tray.

I have changed the printer selection. I can actually change it several ways,
but no matter what I select it wants to print from the Auto Feed tray. But
thanks.

I was just seeing this same behavior today with Outlook 2007 and a Sharp
copier on the network. Outlook absolutely is overiding the printer driver
settings and forcing to default tray.

Further when the printer is on the print server where Exchange resides, the
settings are changed for everyone using the printer once someone prints an
email.

Any ideas?

When I had Outlook 2003, I would just click on the printer icon on the tool
bar and it would print from the lower (optional) tray on my printer (HP
photosmart 7960). Since "upgrading" to 2007, even when I select the lower
tray!!!!! Occasionally it does print the way I want it to but that is rare
and only when I want to use the paper in the upper tray...... I was under the
impression the I was in control of my computer NOT vice versa!!!. I have
checked my settings for the printer properties several times. I can't
remember if with the 2003, I had to at first, select the preference from the
print drop-down and it eventually remembered it as my default. I do know that
I did not have this problem with 2003; it is very frustrating.

Has anyone, please, solved this problem of Outlook 2007 not recognising the
lower tray of a Canon printer selected when printing e-mails. Even when
changing the tray in "preferences" Outlook 2007 over-rides the selection.
The same thing happens if the lower tray is set as default in printer
properties. I agree it is so frustrating, particularly when it worked fine
in 2003.
