Printing attachments on sent emails

Peter Quested

Hello all,

When I print a copy of an email that I have sent using Outlook 2002 SR-2,
there is no indication on the printed page that there was an attachment.

Printing received emails shows attachments.

How can I get printed sent emails to include the name of attached files?

Many thanks

Peter

When I print sent files with attachments , it works more or less the same as
when I print received files with attachments. The names of the files and
associated icons are displayed at the top of the page.

Are you sending in Outlook and reading in OE?

No, I don't use Outlook Express at all.

I have the same problem. Outlook used to print the
attachment as a graphic but it doesn't any more and I
cannot figure out why. Would like to know.

Have been having the same problem with attachments seemingly invisible when printed.
I think the differences (or lack of) between sent and received mails are down to the message format.
My inference so far is that the attachment icons will show if you print a plain text message, but not if you have an HTML one. (not sure about rich text?).
However Outlook doesn't always permit you to change the format to plain text (usually open the message > select the Format menu > select Plain Text) - it's frequently greyed out and I can't ascertain why. Any ideas?
Fortunately you can influence how your own messages are created: select plain text and all is well. As for received messages - no idea what to do!
[Outlook 2002].
