Outlook (2002 - XP) Email Printing problem

R

Problem -

When print emails from Outlook XP that have attachments - sometimes the
attachments show up and sometimes they don't !

When I say 'show up' I mean that the attachment name is printed, or
sometimes an Icon for the attachment is printed and sometimes not.

What is most bizzare is that it is not consistent, sometimes Word Documents
show up as Word Icons, sometimes as document.doc names, sometimes no
mention of an attachment at all !

I have tried to find a pattern but can not discern one at all. Emails that
are forwarded seem to suffer just as much randomness as emails sent or
recieved.

Any help or light shed on this would be great, Thanks

How you'll see the attachment presented depends on the format of the
message. From your description, the Rich Text messages will show the icon
for the attachment within the message body image. For the other two formats
(i.e., Plain Text and HTML), one will show you the name of the attachment (I
suspect the Plain Text format) and the other won't.

Brian,

Thanks for the reply but I dont think this is exactly right - It does not
seem to matter whether the message is Plain Text or HTML - sometimes the
attachment is shown sometimes not when you print - if not there is
nothing at all that shows the message ever had an attachment ! I
understand that the appearance of the attachment will differ but not the
actual fact of it being there !

I am using a preview before print so have been able to test 100's of
these without depleting the entire worlds forests :) Maybe you could
have a look at yours and see if you find the same ?

Any further ideas would be most welcome as I have a client ( alarge
insurance company) who require to be able to print off hard copies
showing the attachments.

Regards

Well, since I'm using Outlook 2003, I don't have the problem at all.
