Printing and displaying contacts by category

I have a group of users that have made good use of categories and would
like to print out their contacts in Card Style grouped by category. Is that
possible?

They would also like to have the contacts in Detailed Address Card view
sorted by categories.

Any suggestions? All my resources say you can't, but I'm hoping the masters
can show me the way ;-)

You could make a new view filtered by Category and in the card style. Print
that. Maybe it could be grouped by category in a card style - never tried
it.
