I have a client that would like to have a footnote printed
on the bottom of the document she is creating. She would
like this document footnote to have detail about the
documents status. Information printed would be who
created the document, date created, and discription of
said document.

I am not sure how to do this other than manually. Any
ideas?

Thanks for the assistance.

If by "footnote" you mean "footer," then this is very simple. View | Header
and Footer, switch to the footer, and insert the appropriate DocProperty
fields (Author, CreateDate, and Subject (or whatever property contains the
description). If this footer should appear only on the last page, that is
also possible using an IF field. You can also get this information (on a
separate page, I think) by checking the "Document properties" box under
"Include with document" on the Print tab of Tools | Options. For more on
headers/footers, see http://home.earthlink.net/~wordfaqs/HeaderFooter.htm
